boys team charity - Prospective Member

Dear Prospective btc Cactus League Families:

Thank you for your interest in joining boys team charity (btc)! btc is a volunteer service organization dedicated to developing an altruistic spirit in young men through the active participation of parents (called Coaches) and sons (called TeamMates) in philanthropic projects throughout our communities.

Prospective members apply to join btc in the Spring every year when boys are in their 6th through 11th grade year. Our Prospective Member Drive for the 2024-25 calendar year will begin accepting new applications on Monday, March 4, 2024 and will continue through Monday, March 11, 2024.

Please note that to apply for membership in the Cactus League, you must live in the 85255, 85259 or 85260 zip codes. Prospective Members must also be sponsored by a current btc member in good standing. If you know someone who is currently a member of any Arizona btc league who could sponsor you, please reach out to them and ask that they complete an Intent to Sponsor form on your family’s behalf. The form should be submitted by Monday, March 11. If you do not know anyone, please use the "Contact Us" form to let us know, and we will find a current member who will be happy to sponsor your family.


PROSPECTIVE MEMBER APPLICATION:
During our Prospective (New) Membership Drive, you will need to complete the Prospective Member Application form if you are interested in joining the btc Cactus League. Once we have received your completed form, your information will be shared with our VP Membership team, and you will be contacted by them. In some cases, you may not be contacted for a few weeks, so please be patient!


MEMBERSHIP ENROLLMENT:
Once an application is received, your son will be placed on a Prospective Member list based on his high school graduation year (i.e., Class of 2030). If there are more applicants than space available in a particular class, the applicants will be selected by a random draw to fill the class and, if necessary, form a waitlist. Prospective members and their sponsors will be contacted by the VP Membership team following the draw, which is around late March.


btc MEMBERSHIP EXPECTATIONS

HOURS REQUIREMENTS:
There are annual minimum requirements for both Philanthropy and League Hours for both boys (TeamMates) and parents (Coaches). Philanthropy hours are earned by volunteering at one of our League-approved philanthropies. League hours are earned by attending General membership meetings, Team (grade level) meetings, committee meetings, etc. throughout the year:

Grades 7 thru 9:
15 Philanthropy Hours
6 League Hours

Grades 10 thru 12:
10 Philanthropy Hours
6 League Hours


VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
btc is an all-volunteer organization, and our success depends on parents taking active roles in the leadership and guidance of our league. At least one parent in each family is required to serve in a leadership role for at least two years during their tenure at btc Cactus League.


FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Each league has annual membership dues that are used to cover the costs of operating the league. For btc Cactus League, the annual dues are:

TeamMate plus one or two Coaches.........$145
